Attention Candidates appearing for Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2016

The Commission has already notified the dates for the conduct of the J&K Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2016, which has been scheduled w.e.f. 02.07.2018 to 27.07.2018 in two Sessions as under:-

Forenoon Session -10:00 AM to 01:00 PM Afternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM Due to the incessant rains during the past few days and the situation that has arisen on account of rising water levels, in some cases above the danger mark, there has been a feeling of uncertainty amongst the aspirants with regard to conduct of the Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2016.

It is informed that the authorities are conscious of the situation that has emerged and is continuously reviewing it. As of now, there seems no need to reschedule the examination since all the routes to Srinagar/Jammu are through for traffic and no reports have fortunately been received about submergence or inundation of any of the residential localities although, the habitations residing along the embankments of river Jhelum/Nallas and in the low lying areas have been advised to remain vigilant. In case it is felt necessary upon review to take a decision with regard to postponement or otherwise of the examination, the same shall be taken and given wide publicity for informationofallconcerned.Thereis,however,noneedtopanicatthisstage.Thecandidates are further advised to keep visiting the official website of the J&K PSC for updates. A total of around 8200 candidates, 4500 at Jammu Centre(s) and another 3700 at Srinagar Centre(s), are scheduled to take the examination.

The Admit Cards are available for downloading from the Commission’s website www. The Candidates are advised to download their admit cards in advance. Detailed date sheet has also been issued and can be accessed on the Commissions website.

Furthermore, the candidates are advised to rely only on the announcements hosted on the Commission’s official website i.e. for any future updates and not pay heed to any text messages or news items that may be circulated in the social media circles
