In a rather bizarre incident, a man injected himself with semen as a part of ‘alternative therapy’ to treat his severe back pain. According to a medical paper published in Irish Medical Journal (IMJ), the 33-year-old man had ‘intravenously injected his own semen as an innovative method to treat back pain’.
According to the research paper, the man had devised this “cure independent of any medical advice”. The report cites that the man injected one monthly “dose” of semen for 18 consecutive months using a hypodermic needle which had been purchased online. The report said that the man had a history of chronic pain and had lifted a heavy object just three days before the symptoms were reported. Before reporting the matter to the examiners, he had ínjected himself with ‘three doses of semen intra-vascularly and intra-muscularly’.
The semen reportedly collected in his upper arm over the next 24 hours. After due medical treatment, the man was cured. According to the report, he, however, opted to discharge himself without the drainage of the collected semen. The Independent reported that this is the first reported case of injection of semen in human beings, though experiments have been carried out on rabbits and rats. Times now
