As the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the general elections 2019 dates, we noticed clash of dates for JEE (Advanced) and CA May examinations.
According to the ECI, the Lok Sabha 2019 elections will be conducted in seven phases starting from April 11, 2019 to May 19, 2019. The seventh phase election will be held on May 19 for 59 Lok Sabha constituencies – Bihar (8), Jharkhand (3), MP (8), Punjab (13), West Bengal (9), Chandigarh (1), UP (13), Himachal (4). While the Indian Institutes of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has announced that the JEE (Advanced) 2019 will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
According to the ICAI examination schedule the CA May 2019 examinations for Foundation, Intermediate and Finals would be conducted from May 3 to May 16. The exam which would be conducted on May 6 an 12 are clashing with the election dates. The ICAI is likely to reschedule the dates of the exams falling on May 6 and May 12, 2019.
However, as per the general ITT exam rules, the exam date is not changed if it clashes with a public holiday. But there are always exceptions, this is being the Lok Sabha elections, the IIT (Advanced) exam date is likely to be changed by the IIT Roorkee. However, an announcement is yet to be made by the IIT Roorkee.
Candidates are advised to check the official IIT Roorkee website for the update on exam date.
For the year 2018-19, the JEE (Main) exam is being conducted twice a year. This is the first time the engineering/ architecture entrance test for the IITs, NITs and other top technical education institutions are being conducted a second time giving an opportunity to aspirants to appear in both the exams. he best of the two scores will be accounted for while preparing the merit-list.
Close to 72% of the aspirants of Joint Entrance Examination (Main 1) have registered for the Main 2 exam as well so as to improve their scores. TOI
