Police arrested two persons for selling adultered saffron in Panthachowk

Srinnagar Police busted a gang involved in the selling of fake Saffron by arresting two persons.
Pantha Chowk police under the supervision of SHO police station Panthachowk Muhammad Ayoub Rather on a specific information about selling replica of Saffron by some unscrupulous persons, arrested one prime suspect person namely Aarif Ahmed Bakhroo son of Ghulam Mohammed Bakhroo resident of Jogi Lankar Rainawari indulging in selling of adultered saffron and recovered one kg of fake saffron from his possession, adding that upon his disclosure one more person namely Umar Ahmed Ghuroo son of Farooq Ahmed Ghuroo resident of Parimpora who was involved in selling the adultered saffron was arrested, a police spokesman told SJK
Both the arrested persons are believed to be part of a gang involved in making and selling adultered saffron in Kashmir, adding that investigations have been taken up and more arrests are likely in this regard.
A case FIR No 12/2018 under section 420, 272 RPC, 19,20 Saffron Act was registered in police Station Pantha Chowk.
Police have urged the people to inform police if they have any complaints or such information about so that the involved persons are punished under law.
